Tile Installer Certification exams will be held across Canada this year. It consists of a two part challenge – CCTI Online Exam & CCTI Practical Exam.
The cost to get certified for the CCTI Online Exam is $595 for Members and $795 for Non-Members. Once registered and approved, Members will receive a coupon in their account for the discounted rate.
For the CCTI Practical Exam, you will be asked to demonstrate your skills on a basic residential shower application. The Tiled Pod will be 3 feet x 3 feet x 3 feet and will test your fundamental tiling skills. It is expected that all TTMAC details will be followed, and you will be evaluated in accordance with those details in order to pass your tile installer certification.
Why CCTI?
The Terrazzo Tile and Marble Association of Canada is the governing body in the country for tile installation. We are the body who writes the 093000 Tile Installation Manual, the technical book, which is followed by all in the industry, it is quoted by specifiers in their new projects and well known by architects, designers and everyone else involved in the hardsurface industry.
Why CCTI? TTMAC discussed with all its members the need to have tile setters certified, to differentiate between someone who knows how to install tile according to specifications and someone who learns how to install tiles on youtube. This certification course is very comprehensive and very well set. The curriculum was written based on the specification manual and has been scrutinized by many.
After taking the online course as well as the hands-on test, all installers who pass the test, will be listed on our website and will all be promoted to the industry as certified tile installers.
